It begins

She stands on the bridge of the ship, unsure what just happened. She turns and looks at the man standing next to her, wondering why she was there, but not sure what or how to say it. It dawns on her that her thoughts are her own. She is no longer hearing the thoughts of her master. She becomes frightened instead of confused.

The man holds her arm and directs her to a chair. "You can sit here."

"Why?" was all she could muster.

"Why, so that you can sit down."

She shakes her head, "No, why have you brought me here?"

"To keep you from your masters punishment." he says solemnly.

Confusion abounded, she looked at the ship, realizing that she was no on her world anymore. "Where am I?"

"We are in space, upon a ship like the one your master brought you here in."

She nods, and turns so she can review everything around her. The silence in her mind is hard to handle. She looks to him one more time asking "Why did you take the voices out of my head?"

He moves in front of her, kneels down and holds her hands together. "We moved to far for your communication connection with your masters to still hold connection. They do not control you now."

She sits still, almost like a statue trying to take this in. "Why were my masters angry with me? What punishment did they select for me?" There had to be good reason for her to be sitting here.

"They were angry you were kind to me, even after they had selected not to allow me to be there." His eyes hit the ground searching for the words to say to her. "They wanted to have you killed by thrashing." He looked at her face, and she became very pale, her hands began to shake. She nearly collapses in the chair. "You are fine now."

She nods, closes her eyes not understanding how she could have been that deep in the position. She was hoping her cover wasn't blown by this man's act of kindness. Fearing it may have been, she thinks hard about her options. She considers telling him the truth, but opts against it for now. "What do you need from me?" She lowers her head in submission.

"Just sit there, while I fly us out of here."

"Where are we going?" She calms herself and her thoughts.

"Somewhere people like you are not slaves."

Realizing this is a problem, she stands up and walks over to him. She puts her hands over his. "Your help is appreciated, however I am not able to go with you there."

He freezes, and looks at this young woman. Looking up he meets her eyes and askes "Why can you not go elsewhere?"

"Because my place is not there, or here." Her voice is solem. "I am a member of obsentchure"
